THINGS TO DO IN THE GARDEN IN MARCH
Well it looks like a chance of rain most every day next week, so if you want to work in the garden, you better do it this weekend. Now is the time to fertilize most of the garden-not iris or acid loving plants though. Put about a cupful of lime around your clematis, and a small amount of bone meal around daffodils. I like to use composted manure around my other plants, but sometimes I just use triple8. Start planting gladioli, and plant some every two weeks for a long bloom period-remember to stake them or they will all fall over. Soak bulbs in 1 and1/2 Tablespoons of Lysol mixed with a gallon of water-for about three hours before you plant them.
